Dragon Care 101
Protect your dragons
Polish their scales
Daily.
Serve caviar and
Roast knight
Topped with a generous
Amount of ghost pepper sauce.
Protect your dragons,
Hold them close,
Whisper sweet nothings
And watch smoke tendrils rise
From their nostrils
As they fall asleep,
Claws curled gently kneading.
Seasons Growing Pains
In the Autumn I grew wings
That carried me through
Painted forests,
I learned the beauty of
An ending.
In the Winter I forgot,
Buried everything under a blanket of snow.
In Spring honey dripped from my mouth,
Birdsong flooded the air.
In the Summer I shed my former self
As a snake sheds his skin,
And bloomed anew.
Storms
Turn to face into the rain,
Though your hands are shaking
You know this is where you belong,
For even the smallest can make waves
And the strongest have come through storms
Imaginary Whales
In the Spring
Of my youth
I swam in plastic pools,
Imagining them to be vast oceans
Where whales would greet me
Fondly.
Over-Thinking
Fishbowl
Round and Round,
A circular speedway
Broken only by
Sticky note taped
To the glass-
You can make it.
